Homecoming

Uncouth, unfair, unjust, untrue

I bore no good I had no shame.

Knew naught how far I’ve come astray

With wrong to build and luck to blame.

Prepare, prevail, propell, progress

Throughout the day, I tried, I did.

Confused within consumed without

My dried up soul inside I hid.

Deprived, devoid, demeaned, depressed

In search for love, I knelt to pray

And when my head caressed the ground,

I found my Lord a sheath away..

Inspire

Indwelling in the entirety of my being, I sifted through my existence. In the far depths of my soul, the ember was still aflame. It may have been denied recognition for so long yet it existed. Inscribed upon its ablaze facade, was the plea of an entrapped wolf, struggling against the masks and labels to rise out and rule.

It won’t be long I hope, when it wins the war within.
